Diesel Spill in Shelburne
Posted: August 9, 2010

A tractor trailer crossed the centre median and collided with another truck. As a result, one of the trucks left the paved road surface and crashed into a tree on the front lawn of an adjacent residence. The crash caused significant damage to the truck and resulted in the loss of approximately 810 litres of diesel fuel, 35 litres of motor oil, and 270 litres of hydraulic oil onto the ground below. Itech was retained and responded immediately to the site. After emergency locates were completed, soils were excavated and stockpiled on tarps until disposal was arranged. The consultant collected soil samples and analyses results verified clean perimeters around the excavation. The site was then backfilled and seeded.
