On December 15th, 2010 Itech Environmental was asked to assess multiple truck rollovers that occurred as a result of a massive winter storm that created white out conditions along the HWY 402 corridor between London and Sarnia. The conditions were so extreme that reportedly over 360 vehicles and motorists were stranded on the roadway. Many motorists were air lifted to safety. Access to the highway was only available by snowmobile.
With authorization from the OPP to enter the area, Itech Environmental responding for its client and examined multiple trucks to determine if any potential environmental impacts where present.
As a result of this visual investigation our client and Itech personnel were able to respond to, and clean up immediately once the highway was cleared of vehicles and re-opened by the Ontario Provincial Police.
